Feast of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother

Catholic churches all across Italy celebrate the feast day of the Assumption of Mary. According to our belief, August 15 is the day that God assumed the Virgin Mary into Heaven at the end of her life.  Join us in honoring this day with friendship and breaking bread.

At the end of her life, Mary was taken up to heaven, body and soul. It was fitting that God should glorify her in this way because she gave birth to the Son of God. This mystery shows us the dignity of the human body, which, by the gift of grace, becomes a temple of the Holy Spirit and is destined for glory. Mary is the woman “clothed with the sun” (Revaltion 12:1), our advocate and intercessor.
