In Loving Memory 2015 - 2016

Nick Moccia

January 26, 2016

Today, it is with great sadness to announce that we lost a dear friend and fellow member Nick Moccia after a debilitating illness. Nick contributed much of his time, effort and expertise as our treasurer for a period of time for which we are extremely grateful.

Our sincerest condolences go out to his wife, Annette during this most trying time and may Nick rest in peace in the presence of our Lord.

It has been made known to the Foundation that there will be no formal funeral arrangements.

Tony Greco

It is with sadness that we learned of Tony Greco’s passing. I can’t find enough accolades to bestow on him, for his spirit of volunteerism. The amount of time and effort that he and his team mate Tony Schiavone volunteered to the Foundation’s many events was priceless. They were the backbone of our Monday Night at The Movies, Mah Jongg Tournaments and many other functions. No funeral services were performed. Tony will be sorely missed, and may the Lord grant him Eternal Peace.

Joe D’Annunzio 1929-2015

On November 3rd, we lost our dear friend Joe D'Annunzio. Joe's success story is one that should be shouted from the highest mountain tops. Born of Italian immigrants, he witnessed the menial jobs his father took to support the family and the encouragement he gave to his children to fulfill their dreams. Joe attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology, one of the most prestigious engineering schools in the country, if not the world, where he received his degree. The rest is history. He is a testament to the achievement of the Italian Americans in this country.
There were times when Joe and I didn't always agree. But, that was the beauty of our releationship because we could disagree with each other on certain issues and still remain friends.  In the years that Joe was a memeber of the NIAF, he became a passionate advocate for our organization and benefactor that gave considerably of his time and treasure. The Endowment Fund which he established for NIAF is just one of a number of his accomplishments, and his dedication to our annual golf tournament brought in funds which were donated to Special Olympics and other charities. He will be sorely missed.

Farewell my friend until we meet again.
